
In Abraham case, he wanted a son but it was not possible for him and his wife. Yet God said, “Ok, you will have a son, just obey me and follow my ways.” So this would be a supernatural birth. But, Abraham became impatient and had a son through natural means. It turned out not to be the blessing that he longed for.
Most of the time we behave like Abraham. We desire some blessing for ourselves or someone else, and we seek natural ways to attain it. But that is not the way the Lord wants us to live. He wants us to stop relying our ourselves and what we can do in our own power. Rather he wants us to live on a higher level. A level where we get our desires met by utilizing the spiritual resources at our disposal to attain much more through Him than we could accomplish on our own. This is living not according to the natural, but according to the supernatural; according to the promises of God that are beyond what we could do in our own strength and wisdom. And these promises become attainable through a relationship; a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ (John 15:5-7)…
