Dwelling in the secret place of the Most High: Because I dwell in the secret place of the Most High I will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of The Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver me from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover me with his feathers. Under his wings I will take refuge. His faithfulness is my shield and rampart. I shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day; nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand may fall at my side, and ten thousand at my right hand; but it will not come near me. I will only look with my eyes, and see the retribution of the wicked. Because I have made The Lord my refuge, and the Most High my dwelling place, no evil shall happen to me, Neither shall any plague come near my dwelling. For he will give his angels charge over me, to guard me in all my ways. They will bear me up in their hands, so that I won’t dash my foot against a stone. I will tread on the lion and cobra. I will trample the young lion and the serpent underfoot. “Because he has set his love on me,” says The Lord, “therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high, because he has known my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him. I will satisfy him with long life, and show him my salvation.” Psalms 91
You hide me in the shelter of your presence: Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for me because I reverence you, which you have worked for all those who take refuge in you, before the sons of men! In the shelter of your presence you will hide me from the plotting of man. You will keep me secretly in a dwelling away from the strife of tongues. Praise be to The Lord, for he has shown me his marvelous loving kindness in a strong city. Psalms 31:19-21
The complete armor of God: I stay strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. I put on the complete armor of God that I will be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For I wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. I therefore, put on the complete armor of God that I may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand. I stand having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having fitted my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, I take up the shield of faith, with which I am able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. And I take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful and continuing in prayer for all the saints: Ephesians 6:10-18
God loving-kindness surrounds us: Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but because I trust in The Lord, his loving-kindness surrounds me. Therefore along with those who are righteous I am glad and in rejoice in The Lord! I shout for joy with all who are upright in heart! Psalms 32:10-11
