Confessions from Scripture: God’s word in my life

Meditating on the Law of the Lord: I am blessed because I do not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers. Rather my delight is in the law of The Lord and on his law I meditate day and night. Therefore I will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. What ever I do prospers. Psalms 1:1-3

Keeping the law of the lord in my mouth: This book of the law shall not depart out of my mouth, but I meditate on it day and night, that I may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then I shall make your way prosperous, and then I shall have good success. Joshua 1:8

No stumbling: I have great peace because I love God’s law. Nothing causes me to stumble. Psalms 119:165

Born of incorruptible seed: I have been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which lives and remains forever. 1 Peter 1:23

Counsel from the Lord: You, O Lord, will instruct me and teach me in the way I shall go. You will counsel me with your eye on me. Psalms 32:8

Properly handling the word of truth: I remind my fellow Christians to endure all things for the God’s chosen ones, charging them in the sight of the Lord not argue about words which ruins those who hear. And I am careful to present myself approved by God, as a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed, who properly handles the Word of Truth. 2 Timothy 2:14, 15

Not a forgetful hearer: I am a doer of the word, and not only a hearer, who deludes himself/herself. Because I look continually into the perfect law, the law that gives freedom, not being a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, I will be blessed in all that I do. James 22, 25

Not by bread alone: I do not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4

Founded on the rock: Lord Jesus, because I hear your words and do them, I am like a wise man, who house withstood mighty floods and strong winds because the house was founded on the rock. Matthew 7:24-25

The truth sets you free: Lord Jesus, since I remain in your word, I am really your disciple; I will know the truth, and the truth will sets me free.” John 8:31, 32

Watch over His word: You Lord are watching over your word to perform it. Jeremiah 1:12

God’s word does not return void: Lord, my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are my ways your ways. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are your ways higher than my ways, and your thoughts than my thoughts. For as the rain comes down and the snow from the sky, and doesn’t return there, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth and bud, and gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so your word goes forth out of your mouth: it does not return to you void, but it accomplish that which you please, and it shall prospers in the purpose for which you sent it. Isaiah 55:8-11

Staying pure: Lord, how do I keep my way pure? By living according to your word. Psalms 119:9

Opening my eyes: Lord, open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things out of your law. Psalms 119:18

Comfort in affliction: Lord, remember your word to your servant, because you gave me hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, for your word has revived me. Psalms 119:49, 50

A light for my path: O Lord, your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path. Psalms 119:105

Let the word of Christ dwell richly: I let the word of Christ dwell richly within me so that I can teach and admonish others with all wisdom and by psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, sing with grace in my heart to the Lord. Colossians 3:16

Things revealed belong to us: The secret things belong to The Lord our God; but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law. Deuteronomy 29:29

Clean because of the word: I am already clean because of the word which Christ has spoken to me. John 15:3

God’s words are life and health to my body: As God’s child I give attention to his words and keep my ears turned to his sayings.  I do not let them not depart from my eyes. I keep them in the midst of my heart.  For God’s words are life to the one who finds them, and health to my whole body. Through them I am able to diligently guard my heart, for out of the heart flows the wellspring of my life. Proverbs 4:20-23

Seeking God’s word: Like Ezra I have set his heart to seek and to study the law of the Lord, to obey it and to teach its statutes and ordinances to God’s people. Ezra 7:10

The Lord will not break his covenant: Lord, you will not break your covenant, nor will you alter what your lips have uttered. Psalms 89:34
