Confessions from Scripture: Effectiveness in Prayer

Receiving whatever I ask: My heart does not condemn me, therefore I have boldness toward God; and whatever I ask, I receive from him, because I keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight. 1 John 3:21-22

Effective prayer through righteous: As a righteous person, my earnest prayers are powerfully effective. James 5:16.

Drawing near to your throne of grace: With boldness I draw near to your throne of grace, where I receive mercy, and find grace for help in any time of need.

Binding and Releasing: Lord Jesus you told us that most assuredly whatever things we will bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever things we will release on earth will be released in heaven. Matthew 18:18

Prayer of Agreement: Because whatever any two of us will agree on earth concerning anything that we will ask, it will be done for us by our Father in heaven. Matthew 18:19

Praying in secret: When I pray, I enter into my inner chamber, shut your door and pray to my Father who is in secret, and my Father who sees in secret will reward me openly. In praying, do not use vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do, for my Father knows what things I need, before I ask him. Matthew 6:6-8

Receiving through believing: All things, whatever I ask in prayer, by believing in faith, though my spirit rather then by mental assent, I will receive. Matthew 21:22

Believe that I receive: All things that I pray and ask for, because I believe that I receive them therefore I shall have them. Mark 11:24

Forgive anything: Whenever I stand praying, I forgive anything I have against anyone; so that my Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive me my transgressions. Mark 11:25

Asking seeking, knocking: Because I keep asking it will be given me; because I keep seeking, and I will find; because I keep knocking, it will be opened to me. Luke 11:9

Asking in Jesus’ name: Whatever I ask of the Father in Jesus’ name, he will give it to me. I ask, and I will receive, that my joy may be made full. John 16:23, 24

The Spirit himself makes intercession for us: In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered. He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit’s mind, because he makes intercession for the saints according to God. Romans 8:26, 27

Wisdom whenever its needed: Whenever I need wisdom, I ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it is given to me because I ask in faith, without any doubting, James 1:5, 6

Asking anything according to God’s will: This is the boldness which I have toward him, that, if I ask anything according to his will, he listens to me. And if I know that he listens to me, whatever I ask, I know that I have the petitions which I have asked of him. 1 John 5:14, 15

Rewarded for diligences: You, Oh God, reward those who diligently seek you by faith. Hebrews 11:6

Abiding in the word: Because I remain in you, and your words Lord Jesus remain in me, I can ask whatever I desire, and it will be done for me. John 15:7

Desires of the righteous granted: What the wicked fear, will overtake them, but I am righteous through Jesus Christ my desire will be granted. Proverbs 10:24

Overriding anxiety through prayer: Because I override anxiety by taking every issue and request to God through prayer and petition with thanksgiving; therefore the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guards my heart and my mind through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6, 7
