Confessions from Scripture: Our life in Christ

Our Identification with Christ: I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me. Galatians 2:20

Dead to sin: For the death that Christ died, he died to sin one time; but the life that he lives, he lives to God. Thus in the same manner I consider myself dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:10, 11

A living sacrifice: Because of all God’s mercies I present my body as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God as my spiritual service. Romans 12:1

Transformed: I not conforming to this world, but I’m being transformed by the renewing of my mind, so that I will be able to prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2

Set Christ as Lord: I sanctify Christ as Lord in my heart; and I am always ready to give an answer to everyone who asks me the reason of the hope that is within me, with humility and fear. 1 Peter 3:15

Set free from the law of sin and death: There is therefore now no condemnation against me because of my u n i o n with Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death. For what the law couldn’t do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did through Christ that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in me, so that I no longer walk after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1-4

Abiding in Christ: Lord Jesus you are the vine and I’m one of your the branches. Because I abide in you and you in me, I bear much fruit, for apart from you I can do nothing. Because I abide in you, and your words abide in me, I can ask whatever I desire, and it will be done for me. In this way is the Father glorified, that I bear much fruit; and that I demonstrate that I am one of your disciples. John 15:5, 7, 8

Your joy is my strength: I’m not grieved; for the joy of the Lord is my strength. Nehemiah 8:10

All for the glory of God: Whatever I do, I do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthian 10:31

Fellowship with Jesus: Lord Jesus, I hear you standing at the door calling me to intimate fellowship with you. I acknowledge your voice and welcome your presence in my life today. Revelation 3:20

Conforming to the image of the Son: For the Father knew me long before I was born and has already put his plans into motion to conform me into the image of his Son, that I would be numbered among one of Jesus’ many brothers and sisters. Not only has the Father predestined me in this manner, he has also invited me to participate in his plans. In addition to inviting me He also put me in right standing with him and elevated me with heavenly honor and dignity. Romans 8:29, 30

Rest from the Lord: Lord Jesus, I come to you, with all my labors and heavily burdens, and through you I find rest. I take your yoke upon me, and I learn from you, for you are gentle and lowly in heart; and thus I find rest for my soul. For, your yoke is easy, and your burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30

Casting away all cares: Today I humble myself under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt me in due time; casting all my worries on him, because he cares for me. 1 Peter 5:6, 7
