What can we expect to receive when God is our source?

He is our source for everything:

“He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things?” Romans 8:32.

God is:

Our source of guidance, revelation and wisdom: “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him,” James 1:5; For the LORD gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6.

Our source of salvation: “There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!” Acts 4:12

Our source of forgiveness from sin: “in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,” Ephesians 1:7.

Our source of healing for our bodies: “Praise Lord, my soul…who heals all your diseases,” Psalms 103:1, 3.

Our source for the Holy Spirit: If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?” Luke 11:13.

Our source of faith: “Or I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith,” Romans 12:3.

Our source of grace: “From his fullness we all received grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ,” John 1:16, 17.

Our source of comfort: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4.

Our source of blessing and empowerment: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ;” Ephesians 1:3.

Our source of protection: “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in whom I trust.’ For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, And from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day; Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday,” Psalms 91:1-6.

Our source of power, love and self-discipline: “For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control,” 2 Timothy 1:7.

Our source for boldness: “When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness,” Acts 4:31.

Our source for freedom for fear: “I sought the LORD, and he answered me, And delivered me from all my fears. They looked to him, and were radiant. Their faces shall never be covered with shame,” Psalms 34:4, 5.

Our source for deliverance from burdens and oppression: “Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead, who delivered us out of so great a death, and does deliver; on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us,” 2 Corinthians 1:9, 10; “But the salvation of the righteous is from Yahweh. He is their stronghold in the time of trouble,” Psalms 37:39.

Our source for righteousness, holiness or sanctification and redemption: But of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,” 1 Corinthians 1:30.

Our source for transformation: “Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God,” Romans 12:2; “But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit,” 2 Corinthians 3:18.

Our source for prosperity and success: “This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate thereon day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success,” Joshua 1:8;

Our source for fruit: “Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me,” John 15:4; “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law,” Galatians 5:22, 23.

Our source for hope: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy became our father again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that doesn’t fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who by the power of God are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time,” 1 Peter 1:3-5.

Our source of defense: “The LORD is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid? When evil-doers came at me to eat up my flesh, even my adversaries and my foes, they stumbled and fell. Though a host should encamp against me, My heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, Even then I will be confident,” Psalms 27:1-3.

Our source for rest: “Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light,” Matthew 11:28-30.

Our source for light and enlightenment: “The entrance of your words gives light. It gives understanding to the simple,” Psalms 119:130.

Our source for the blessing of God: “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,’ that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith,” Galatians 3:13, 14.

Our source for food and clothing: “Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin, yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won’t he much more clothe you, you of little faith? “Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well,” Matthew 6:28-33

Our source for new life: “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Our source for overcoming lack: “Oh fear the LORD, you his saints, for there is no lack with those who fear him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger, but those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing,” Psalms 34:9, 10.
