I remember back in October 2001 I had been living in Corozal Town, Belize for two and a half years and felt that now was the time for me to get my own computer. After making arrangements with a computer seller down in Belize city I withdrew money from my savings and drove eighty miles to pick up my new PC.

Yet while I was making the return trip to Corozal Town I began to feel apprehensive about my purchase. I wondered if I had done the right thing with the money I had saved. Would I need that money in the future to cover some unexpected expense?

But during that drive the Lord began to minister to me; show me that he truly was my source and that I was not acting on my own. He was directing me get the computer. It was part of his plan for me. Thus, I did not need to worry about the future or how much money I had. He would take care of that. And yes, things worked out fine. Having that computer open the door for me to start my own business, create many useful publications and share the gospel of Christ. Yet I did not know these things would be taking place at the time I purchased the computer.

For us who follow Christ, it is not necessary for us to beg to Him for the things we need. No, God is our creator; He is responsible for us just as a father feels responsibility for his children. He wants to be our source. And not just in spiritual things but in every area of life. But we have to yield ourselves to Him; He is not going to sponsor those who are in opposition to His ways, living outside of His will or who do not have a relationship with Him. No, he does not condone or support unrighteousness. But He is gracious to those who believe, acknowledge and obey Him.

You too can have God as your source when you yield your life to him, receive his Son as your Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9-10) and bring you life into accordance to his word (Psalm 1:1-3).
